Q2 Neighborhood Update – July 9, 2021

Long Lake Neighbors,

The board hopes this email finds you well and enjoying the summer!

Our plan is to provide you regular updates as to happenings in the neighborhood to keep you up to date.

Updates on previous information:

Lake Draw Down
As it stands now, that is now on track for a sept/oct timeframe.  This is dependent on the fracking company and their progress. The Lake Front Owners Association is currently having studies done to evaluate what lake improvements will be made.

Flowerbeds:
As you know, the freeze hit our plants hard, the decision was made, with the age of the plants, the amount of damage it was more cost effective to replace and provide the beds with a new look.

Backgate:
The back gate is fully functional, it has several cameras monitoring and recording 24/7.  We have met with a contractor to have dirt work and grass installed to improve the look to the LL standard along the back drive.

Requests were made at the annual meeting to have pedestrian access, which has now been completed, if you have a card, there is an additional keypad scanner on the “STOP HERE” sign.  If you need an access card, Dan Currey 318 210 1200 is the person to call.

Items Needing Attention:

Boats, Trailers, RV’s parked in driveways:
Over the past couple of months, there has been an increased number of these parked in driveways.  This is not becoming of our neighborhood and is not the image we want portrayed.  As a reminder, please do not store your boat,rv,trailer in driveways for more than 48 hours.  Please be neighborly and address if this applies to you.

ref:  Covenants section 4.28 under use restrictions.

Boats on shoreline:
An increasing number of boats are being stored along the shoreline.  As a reminder, the Lake Owners guidelines require all boats or watercraft may not be stored within 50ft of the shoreline.  Again, please address this immediately if this applies to you.

ref: Lake Front Owners section 4.13 under use restrictions.

New Items:

Google Maps:
Google now shows the back entrance as access from the Southern Loop.  We are in the process of contacting Google to have them change that to a private drive.  We have seen workers and contractors arrive, only to not be able to enter.

WebSite:
The board has made a decision, that we will utilize a new website, to communicate to the residents.  That website is under development, and will house items like,
  • links to the board
  • links to obtain access cards
  • Directory
  • ability to pay dues online
  • social events
It is currently under development, we have hired a professional web developer and we are excited about the opportunities it will provide.

Sincerely,
Kevin
